SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS

 

The Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad  is attracting the visitors a lot every year with the following special attractions.

  • Bioscope, Film Screenings, Natural History Museum, Jurassic Park, and Aquarium facilities for kids.

 

  • The Zoo has certain specialties like Safari, Nocturnal Animal House, Reptile House, Birds of Prey enclosures, Butterfly Park, etc. some of which were launched first time in India.

 

Safari Parks:
  • The Lion Safari Park extends over an area of 40 acres and it is first of its kind opened to the public in 1974.
  • The Tiger Safari Park extends over an area of 35 acres and was opened to the public during the year 1988.
  • The Bear Safari and Bison Safari were opened during 1992. The area of Bear Safari alone is 17 Acres, while the latter one is 8 Acres.

 

Butterfly Park:

Established in 1988, Butterfly Park presents an innumerable variety of butterflies that can be spotted throughout the year. Hyderabad Zoo is the first zoo in the country to start a park solely dedicated to butterflies.

 

Nocturnal Animal House :

 At the Nocturnal house, the night and day cycle has been artificially reversed so as to create an environment for nocturnal animals such as bats, loris, civets, owls, cats, etc., to be active during the visiting hours. Please check tariff information.

 

Jurassic Park :

Another attraction for kids is the Jurassic Park, which boasts of life-size figures of various dinosaur species such as Brontosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus. Information on each of the species is also provided at the park.

 

Fish Aquarium :

 A number of aquatic species, freshwater as well as marine water species, can be seen in the huge Aquarium at the park. Exotic fish and their colorful features attract every visitor.

 

Natural History Museum :

The museum is another section that must be visited while on your tour of the zoo park in Hyderabad. It consists of various exhibitions on biodiversity conservation, panel boards with interactive calls of different animals, evidence of animals such as their pug mark, feathers, etc. along with Taxidermy models of various animals.
